Francesco Pascucci

I am a green designer and landscape architect in Tuscany, specialising in the design of naturalistic gardens, consisting mainly of communities of plants with low water requirements, where maintenance is kept to a minimum.

I began my gardening career when, just after graduating from high school, I decided to move to Florence to study landscape design at the Faculty of Agriculture. After graduating from university, I have worked at a major nursery on the border between Tuscany and Umbria and this experience has allowed me to expand my knowledge, learn cultivation processes and select the best ornamental plants, which is the essential requirement for a landscape designer.

Subsequently, I worked as a gardener for a large company specializing in garden design, located between the provinces of Arezzo and Florence. There, I learned the fundamentals and, thanks to the support of expert gardeners, I was able to master all the steps required for proper garden design, from earthmoving equipment to installing irrigation and lighting systems, to preparing the land for the planting of trees and plants.

After about two years, I wanted to put the knowledge I had acquired from my previous experiences to use, and I landed a position as a landscape designer and project supervisor. I have applied the theoretical foundations learned during my studies into practical experience, designing small to medium-scale private gardens as well as green areas for large industrial facilities, and overseeing their implementation.

During this last experience, I developed a desire to design gardens with a more natural style, using herbaceous perennials, grasses, and Mediterranean shrubs, creating resilient, sustainable gardens that are beautiful to look at and, above all, to live in.

I regularly participate in international and local training events with world-renowned landscape architects to increase my knowledge and delve deeper into fundamental issues such as the conscious use of water resources and the creation of suitable substrates to allow plant communities to be resilient and sustainable over time.
